WHO AM I?
My name is Natasha Ybarra-Klor, and I’m a fully-bilingual and bicultural Mexican-American screenwriter with a career spanning television and film. I come from a background in visual arts, which has shaped how I see story: Visually, emotionally, and structurally.
I don’t have a film degree. I don’t follow formulas, and I’ve never even owned a copy of "Save the Cat." What I bring instead is 15 years of real-world writing experience, with produced work on the world’s top streamers, and an intuition for storytelling that executives, producers, and audiences consistently recognize as strong.
STORYTELLING
For me, story always starts with character. And character is always personal, even when we’re writing villains, monsters, or strangers. To build characters that feel alive, nuanced, and complex, you have to dig inside yourself and find what’s true. That truth is what creates tension, what fuels conflict, and what ultimately connects with readers and viewers alike.
I believe that storytelling, at its best, isn’t just craft. It’s connection. And when we lean into the autobiographical layers of our work, it can also become a transformative experience.
MY METHOD
That’s why my consultancy isn’t about teaching formulas. If you work with me, we won’t be recycling ideas you can find in dozens of books on Amazon or videos on YouTube. We’ll talk about your story, why you want to tell it, and how to make it stronger. We’ll address technical issues so your pages are readable and engaging, look at structure through an intuitive lens (what does the story need right now?), and build tension from the inside out.
My consultancy is about accompanying writers and creators, guiding when needed, nudging when needed, as they dig into themselves and find the truth in their stories.
Wherever you are, and whatever you’re writing, I meet you there. I can be your sounding board, your editor, your coach, your teacher, whatever the process calls for. And when fear or writer’s block gets in the way, I can help you move past it with clarity and compassion.
MY GOAL
To help you uncover the truth at the heart of your story, and to give you the support you need to bring it fully to life.

1:1 CONSULTING
Every writer needs something different. Sometimes it’s clear, actionable notes that sharpen a draft. Other times it’s simply having someone to talk through the story with.
My 1:1 consulting adapts to where you are in your journey. For beginners, it might mean learning the basics and building the confidence to get words on the page. For experienced writers, it might be strengthening a draft, or putting together a pitch. And if you’re somewhere in between — stuck in a draft, paralyzed by doubt, or struggling with “writer’s block” — we’ll find ways to get you moving again.
Think of it as having a partner in the process.
HOW IT WORKS
We agree on a personalized plan: What your end goal is, how many sessions it’ll take to get there, and the pace that feels sustainable. You commit to writing; I commit to reading and giving notes. Ideally, we meet once a week for a one-hour Zoom, where we discuss the pages you’ve written and plan ahead for the next batch. There are different variations depending on your needs and budget, and I’m flexible and open to negotiation.
WORKSHOPS
Workshops are where writers come together to learn, share, and strengthen their craft in a collaborative setting. They’re designed for different levels and lengths: From short intensives to longer, more in-depth programs, and each one focuses on a specific aspect of storytelling.
The first edition of my mini-workshop “What Is Your Story About?” just took place, and the second edition is coming in October. More workshops, each with their own theme and structure, will be announced soon.
HOW IT WORKS
Workshops are always small in size so that every participant gets equal time to speak and share their material. Sessions are held online or in person depending on the program. The format combines teaching, discussion, and exercises that ensure participants leave with clarity, practical tools, and renewed confidence in their writing.

LITERARY TRANSLATIONS
The goal: To give you a translation that is not only accurate but also compelling, a version of your project that honors the original while opening it up to new markets and opportunities.
Sure, AI can translate your words. But will it resonate culturally? As a fully bilingual and bicultural writer, I bring not just fluency but also a deep understanding of both U.S. and Mexican contexts. And as a professional screenwriter, I know how to translate scripts, bibles, and pitch decks in a way that preserves the writer’s voice while delivering a version that feels alive, literary, and ready to work in the industry.
HOW IT WORKS
I review your material, discuss the intended audience and goals, and then provide a translation that balances creative fidelity with practical functionality.

SCRIPT DOCTORING
Sometimes a story needs more than notes. That’s where script doctoring comes in.
Script doctoring means I step into your draft and work directly on the page, uncredited. The goal is always the same: To make the script stronger while protecting your voice. That might mean clarifying structure, deepening character arcs, sharpening dialogue, or strengthening pacing and tension.
HOW IT WORKS
After an initial consultation to define the problems you want solved, I do a close read of the script and propose a plan. From there, I revise directly on the page, offering both a marked-up draft and a clean version. We meet to review the changes, and you decide which edits to keep or adapt.

BRANDS
Stories don’t just live on the page or screen, they live in the way people experience a brand.
My work with brands is about uncovering that authentic narrative. Not a marketing gimmick, but the spine that makes your business unique and memorable.
Because my background is in visual arts, with hands-on experience in graphic design, I can also participate in a layered way: Not only shaping the story itself, but helping imagine how it can be expressed visually.
That story can then be translated into whatever you need most: web copy that feels alive, a brand manifesto, a campaign concept, or content strategy. Just as with writers, I adapt the process to the client: sometimes it’s one intensive session to spark ideas, other times it’s a longer collaboration that shapes the voice — and look — of the brand.
The goal is simple: to give your brand a narrative that creates emotional connection — so your audience doesn’t just understand what you do, they feel why it matters.
